Keeping You at Your Best

Hands are essential for everyday tasks and functions. If your hands suffer from problems, you might be a good candidate for one of our many hand surgery procedures. At Keystone Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, we can perform hand surgery to relieve your pain and discomfort.

Carpal tunnel syndrome is one of the more common hand conditions. This is a swelling condition in the hand that is worsened by active use.

Ganglion cysts are also common. Ganglion cysts are when raised fluidous tissue compartments largely confined to joint surfaces or tendon structures.

If you have any of the below mentioned conditions, we highly recommend coming into our facilities. We want you to have full-functioning hands again. To learn more about our procedures and what we can do for you, call us today at (936) 321-4345

Hand Conditions:

Carpal Tunnel

Carpel tunnel syndrome is a neuropathy at the carpel tunnel of the palmer hand. It is a swelling condition of the hand which is worsened by active use and chronic compression of the median nerve traversing the same hand tunnel. Surgery at Keystone is provided when conservative therapy injections or splinting is not successful in ameliorating the intermittent pain and numbness condition. Surgery involves a cut adjacent to the crease lines of the mid palm, through the deep fascia to free the entrapped nerve. A closure with stitches accompanies a splint to be worn after surgery.

Ganglion Cyst

Ganglion cysts are raised fluidous tissue compartments which are largely confined to joint surfaces or tendon structures. They exist under the skin and are not usually treatable by needle aspiration. Surgery is the usual treatment and involves ablation of the cyst by cauterization or enucleation. Sometimes, injection with steroid solution can prompt early resorption although a more permanent fix generally requires excision.

Traumatic Hand Injuries

At Keystone, hand injuries are often assessed on referral from the emergency room or as walk-ins from work related trauma or everyday accidents. Injuries can be common finger or hand fractures necessitating cast care, or complicated near amputations needing operative wound care and structural realignments. Keystone Plastic Surgery is a center of excellence for immediate treatment of tendon tears, nerve and artery lacerations and degloved finger tips. A postoperative healing regimen is followed by a plan for rehabilitation from associated occupational therapeutic experts. Count on Keystone to deliver the best in hand care and meet the needs of form and function.
